Hey Smashers! Nintendo E3 just kicked off today and there were many amazing game announcements.
First off, they showed a lot more about Xenoblade Chronicles 2, which I am particularly excited for.
Then of course they revealed more about Super Mario Odyssey, and while I myself will not be getting that game, I really liked the Capture mechanic they introduced.
There was a new Kirby announced as well, and it seems to borrow mechanics from Kirby 64: The Crystal Shards with combining powers, as well as the Helper mechanic from Kirby Super Star and Super Star Ultra.
Some Breath of the Wild DLC packs were also shown off, though nothing in particular really caught my eye, personally.
(There was a new Yoshi title too but I don't like Yoshi so...)
Fire Emblem Warriors got a new trailer, and the game actually looks less appealing to me than before, but that's just me. The new characters introduced in this game seem very flat and uninteresting, and then of course the plethora of Fire Emblem Fates characters was underwhelming as well.
Then, there was a teaser for what I first thought to be the Final Fantasy VII remake, but once that Metroid music kicked in I knew exactly what I was looking at. It's about damn time they announced Metroid Prime 4. They didn't even show any gameplay, they knew that all they needed to do to get hype going was announce that it was in development.
Just when I thought they couldn't outdo themselves, they announced yet ANOTHER Metroid game on the 3DS, and it is in the classic 2D style of the original Metroid games!
Unfortunately they have not (yet) announced a Smash 4 Switch port, but there are still 2 days left of E3 and more announcements coming!
