Hey Smashers, I'm finally done with my newest moveset. This one was requested by Lasatar, so I hope he enjoys it in particular, but it'd really be awesome if all of you reading this could comment below to tell me what you think of it; any and all feedback is appreciated as it helps me to improve my work in the future! Without further ado, here is the Neptune moveset!

Neptune joins the party!

Attributes[]

  • No. of Jumps: 2
  • Wall Jump: N
  • Wall Cling: N
  • Tether Recovery?: N
  • Float?: N
  • Crawl?: N

As Neptune attacks opponents with standard attacks, her SP Gauge fills up with power. Once it is full, she transforms into Purple Heart; in this form she has greater horizontal movement in the air and jump height is increased; she moves slower on the ground. She can then use a smash attack, with her smash attacks having greater launch power in this form. After using the smash attack, she returns to her original form.

Strengths[]

  • Fast on the ground
  • Fast faller, has an easier time landing
  • Has a rapid jab
  • Great combo game both on the ground and in the air, with down tilt and neutral aerial being among her best combo starters
  • Kill moves: forward tilt, up smash, forward smash, down smash, up aerial, down aerial, back throw, Charge Shot, Hammer Crush, Cross Combo
  • Has moves with several attacks in them when the button is pressed multiple times such as forward aerial
  • Forward smash changes form as it is charged
  • Standard attacks fill up Neptune's SP Gauge, which when filled transforms Neptune into Purple Heart
    • Increased lateral movement and jump height when in this form
    • Decreased falling speed
    • Smash attacks have enhanced launch power in this form
  • Down throw forces a tech chase situation on the opponent
  • Fast pummel
  • Neutral special ground variation Charge Shot has high damage output and kill power
  • Hammer Crush side special deals high shield damage
  • Cross Combo up special has a meteor smash on the descending hit
  • CPU Neptune can assist with recovery in the air and has a long range

Weaknesses[]

  • Fast faller, being easy to juggle and combo
  • Lightweight, being easy to K.O.
  • Below average jump height
  • Charge Shot takes a while to charge up completely
  • Aerial variation of neutral special, Particle Shot, does not cause opponents to flinch
  • Hammer Crush side special leaves Neptune open to attack before and after it is used
  • Cross Combo up special can SD if used off-stage as well as having poor horizontal movement
  • Ground version of down special is easy to dodge
  • Only one smash attack can be used during Hard Drive Divinity as it ends right after finishing a smash attack, so using it recklessly is very poor
  • Down aerial must sweetspot to meteor smash

◾Down Special- CPU Neptune: Neptune turns into a black and purple fighter jet and flies across the ground; if the button is pressed again, she will fire a purple laser forwards. When used in the air, Neptune dives downwards in the fighter jet form at a gradual angle; pressing the button again will fire the laser. If the laser is fired, a disclaimer in the bottom of the screen will say '*This is not actually happening.' 5% from fighter jet, 8% from laser

◾Final Smash- Neptune Break: Neptune raises her sword and soars upwards as she glows with purple light; if she hits an enemy, she will begin slashing them from all directions and then stabs downwards; as the stab impacts with the enemy, a purple laser blasts from below to hit the target and blast them upwards. Upon activating it, she will say, "Neptune Break will break the enemy and the game's balance!" If she hits someone with it, she will say "Great Aeth--no, wait!" as she begins attacking them. Sometimes when using it she will chant the Konami Code before realizing she doesn't need to use it and stops. If she misses, she will say, "Aw man! That was gonna look SO awesome!" 42%

Again, I hope you all enjoyed this. Credit for the SP Gauge mechanic actually goes to Lasatar; I had had the Purple Heart mechanic worked in but it just didn't fit well with the rest of the moveset and I was really dissatisfied with this moveset until he brought up that idea, so huge thanks to him.
