Announcer: We come to the ninth inning after a hard-fought game! Despite the Originals taking an early lead, the Newcomers stormed back in the fourth and fifth innings to tie the score at 3! Now is their chance to possibly seal the game, but the Originals aren't gonna want that to happen! In comes their relief pitcher...PIKACHU!!!
Stepping up to the plate for the Newcomers...Mega Man! After he defeated Batman (no pun intended), he gained his powers and is now one of the most well-known Pinch Hitters! There he is, changing into his new suit as we speak! A black cloak slowly drapes over him, and-no wait, wrong Batman! His arm cannon becoming a fearsome wooden bat, he steps up to the plate!
Pikachu tosses the ball around with his tail before flipping and whipping a 100 mph fastball forward. But Mega Man's new suit serves him well, and he rips one down to center field! Yoshi jumps to get it with his tongue, but OH! He barely misses! The ball hits the wall as Mega Man rounds first. He slides into second. SAFE!
Now Palutena is up to bat. She readies her Custom Bat. Pikachu whips another electric fastball at her. Palutena swings...SHE HITS! Wait! She isn't running! The swing wasn't completed and the ball hasn't traveled anywhere! Palutena has fallen onto her knees. It appears that the electric force of the ball has reacted with her metal staff!
The umps are checking the rulebook right now to see if that is against the rules...nope! Electric balls are not mentioned anywhere. Strike One!
Oh my god! An arrow has suddenly hit the pitcher's mound! Luckily, Pikachu evaded in time, and the unruly spectator is being ejected from the stadium!
Pit: You monster! I'll get you for hurting Lady Palutena!
Pikachu: Pikaaa...
Announcer: Anyways, Palutena has gotten back up and is brushing herself off. She then creates an electric current around her staff. Nice thinking, Lady Palutena!
Pikachu hurls another pitch, and once again Palutena makes contact! No electric shock this time! However, it appears to be a short pop fly...but wait! A dark cloud is forming over Pikachu! A bolt of lightning hits just as the ball flies under it, sending the ball straight down towards him. He reaches out his glove, and the ball sinks into it! Palutena is OUT!
Next up to bat is the pitcher himself, Bowser Jr! They say pitchers aren't good at hitting, but a scouting report has stated that Bowser Jr. may break this stereotype! Out of the mouth of his Clown Car comes a wooden bat, which every Newcomer seems to be using after the...incident.
Pikachu hurls another pitch, but Bowser Jr. swings well before it reaches the plate! He's spinning round and round, banging on his Clown Car and shouting!
Bowser Jr.: NOT YET! NOT UNTIL I GIVE THE COMMAND!
Announcer: Bowser Jr. appears to be having a few...technical difficulties. Pikachu hurls another pitch, and Bowser Jr. prepares to hit, but this time his machine stalls! Strike Two!
Bowser Jr: Darn it! I give up on this thing!
Announcer: Bowser Jr. ejects himself from the Clown Car, sending it rolling several feet away before exploding! Bowser Jr falls down as Pikachu hurls another pitch. Bowser Jr. is not out of tricks however, and smacks the ball with his hammer! It's flying low, straight toward right field...BUT WHAT'S THIS??? CAPTAIN FALCON HAS KNEED THE BALL RIGHT TOWARD FIRST BASE! KIRBY INHALES IT, AND BOWSER JR. IS OUT MERE FEET AWAY FROM LEAVING HOME PLATE!
Audience: KNEE OF JUSTICE! KNEE OF JUSTICE!
Announcer: Things aren't looking too good for the Newcomers! If they get another out, they may not have the chance to pull ahead! But here comes Villager, pulling a bat out from his Pocket...he gets a gleam in his eye...Pikachu throws a pitch...WHOO! THAT WENT WAY OVER HIS HEAD! Ball One!
Pikachu aims the ball closer to the ground this time, and Villager swings, but ooh, he's a tad too late! Strike One! Pikachu hurls another pitch, intent on putting Villager on the brink! BUT WAIT! VILLAGER RIPS ONE STRAIGHT TO RIGHT FIELD! Fox can't get to it in time, and by the time the ball has reached the diamond, Mega Man has already reached home plate! The Newcomers are now up, 4-3!
Now, Pac-Man comes up to the plate, intent on increasing his team's lead. Pikachu pitches, Pac-Man doesn't swing, and a strike is called! One pitch later, and it's Strike Two! Can the Originals get to bat with only a single-point deficit? OH! Pac-Man pops one to left field! Can he get lucky? Nope! Captain Falcon catches it for his second out this inning! And with that, the teams trade places. The Originals will be desperate to overcome the deficit, while the Newcomers will be intent on preserving it.
But it appears that the Newcomers are smiling once they see their closer coming up to the mound. Yep, it's none other than Shulk! Out of all the Newcomers, his addition has held the most hype...but also the most secrecy! None of us know what he can do!
Stepping up to plate first, it's Ol' Reliable Ness! He's led the Originals in hits this game with three, never striking out even once! Will Shulk be any match for him? As Shulk warms up, he appears to be...closing his eyes and holding his hand to his face! What on Earth is he doing??
Shulk: I see that...he's not gonna swing first round...very well then.
Announcer: Shulk rips a...70 mph fastball straight down home plate! Rather slow! But Ness isn't swinging! It's like...Shulk could tell that Ness wouldn't swing no matter what!
Shulk: That's exactly what I'm doing...now he's definitely going to swing this time...
Announcer: Shulk rips a fast pitch this time, but it's way off! Yet Ness swings regardless! Something's up here, but I can't tell what! Shulk throws another errant pitch, and Ness swings again! Strike Three! That was amazing! Shulk just retired the great hitter Ness!
Ness: That was strange...it was like he knew what I was going to do before he even threw!
Link: Leave this to me...
Announcer: Stepping up to plate now is Link! But once again, Shulk throws pitches that correspond perfectly with Link's swings! That's three strikes and two outs! The Originals are in deep trouble now...
Link: All right. I am confident he can tell the future, but I have an idea...
Announcer: Now it's...Yoshi who is coming to the plate?? What are they thinking? Guy's a great center fielder, but he's got a .065 batting average! It's like they're trying to throw away the game!
Shulk: Wait a second...I can't tell what this guy is going to do! It's like he doesn't have a batting plan at all!
Announcer: Shulk appears to be looking troubled for some reason, but he seems to be shaking it off! He hurls a regular pitch down home plate...and Yoshi hits it! None of the fielders appeard to be expecting it, and by the time they've gotten the short line drive that didn't even make it into the grass, Yoshi is already on second base!
Link: I thought that Shulk predicted our batting plans...and I was right! By sending Yoshi to bat, whose mind wasn't advanced enough to have a plan, we managed to stump him! And we can stump him again with...Captain Falcon!
Captain Falcon: What??!! I am a human being and my brain works just as good as anyone else's!
Link: Um, I've seen you in your games. Yeah. Now go up there!
Announcer: Captain Falcon heads up to the plate!
Shulk: Arggg...I can't tell what he's thinking either! They know how I pitch now!
Announcer: Shulk whips one clear over Captain Falcon's head! But Captain Falcon isn't just standing there! He's DROPPED THE BAT and is leaping up...
Captain Falcon: FALCON...
Audience: KYYAAAAAA!
Captain Falcon: PUNCH!!!!
Announcer: A PERFECT CONNECTION! THE BALL IS GOING STRAIGHT TOWARDS THE AUDIENCE AT THE SPEED OF SOUND! YOSHI IS HEADING HOME, AND IS THE ORIGINALS' VICTORY GUARANTEED...?
Audience: GASP!
Announcer: NO! THE BALL HAS HIT THE UPPER PART OF THE WALL! IT'S COMING BACK DOWN, AND GRENINJA IS RACING TOWARDS IT! AS CAPTAIN FALCON ROUNDS SECOND BASE, GRENINJA WHIPS THE BALL TOWARDS THIRD AT LIGHTSPEED! THERE'S NO WAY FALCON CAN BEAT IT THERE! HE TUNRS BACK TOWARD SECOND AS MEGA MAN GETS THE BALL! HE HURLS IT TOWARD LUCINA, INTENT ON BEATING CAPTAIN FALCON, BUT WAIT! AS SOON AS HE THROWS THE BALL, CAPTAIN FALCON TURNS BACK TOWARD THIRD! HE'S PLAYING A LITTLE GAME! AS SOON AS LUCINA GETS THE BALL, SHE THROWS IT BACK, AND CAPTAIN FALCON IMMEDIATELY TURNS AROUND! CAN HE BE CAUGHT! NO! MEGA MAN THROWS IT BACK TOWARD LUCINA, BUT IT'S TOO HIGH! THE BALL FLIES TOWARD CENTER FIELD, AND CAPTAIN FALCON ROUNDS THE BASES! HE SLIDES...SAFE! CAPTAIN FALCON HAS LEAD THE ORIGINALS TO AN AMAZING COMEBACK VICTORY, 5-4!!!!!!!! The Originals are dowsing their hero in Gatorade as we speak!
