Victory Screens[]

  • The pose Samus assumes in the end of her second victory screen is the same one on the artwork covers for Metroid II: The Return of Samus and its remake Samus Returns.
  • Samus' third victory screen partially recreates an animation from the original Super Smash Bros. that she performs when she's selected in the Character Select Screen. It also resembles her official render for Ultimate.

Aesthetic[]

  • Samus still wears the Varia Suit from Metroid: Other M, though the colors are a lot more vibrant due to Ultimate's general aesthetic.
  • When hit, Samus will emit sparks. She shares this trait with other metallic characters (Dark Samus, R.O.B., and Mega Man).

Classic Mode: Another Planet, Another Bounty[]

Samus' Classic Mode involves her battling mostly villains, as she is a bounty hunter by trade; some matches reference past boss battles from throughout the Metroid series. All fights take place only on Metroid stages. The song "Ending - Metroid" will play during the end credits.

Clearing Samus' route allows her to unlock any of the following in order: Inkling, Wii Fit Trainer, Pit, Incineroar, Dark Samus, Cloud, Wario, and Dark Pit.

Role in World of Light[]

D5CA10FC-C766-457E-8E85-A3FE6753177C

Samus with the other fighters facing Galeem.

Samus was among the fighters that were summoned to fight the army of Master Hands.

During the opening cutscene, Samus was present on the cliffside when Galeem unleashed his beams of light. As Galeem attacked, Samus tried to fight back by shooting at it with her Arm Cannon, but only to be captured and placed under its imprisonment along with the other fighters, excluding Kirby.

She can be rescued in an pathway in The Light Realm, blocking the route to an area resembling Pac-Maze. She is required to be rescued, as it will allow the player to proceed with the story.

Samus is later seen among the rescued fighters present in the final battle between Galeem and Dharkon. She also appears in the bad ending where Dharkon is defeated, witnessing the world be engulfed in light.
