Plasma Wisps are common enemies in Smash Run from the Kirby universe.

Origin[]

As its name implies, Plasma Wisp is a green will o' the wisp like enemy that has 2 small eyes and 2 disembodied hands.

They have the ability to control electricity and shoot plasma bullets. Plasma Wisps are also able to float freely in the air, not affected by gravity. They often attack by floating around and firing various level of plasma shots at Kirby and his helper, opting for stronger attacks if it is farther away from Kirby. Its infinite hover ability gives it an edge if its controlled by a second player over other helpers. In the Kirby games, they give Kirby the Plasma ability when inhaled, an ability similar to Mega Man's Mega Buster that gets stronger the more its charged via dash dancing. Plasma Wisp was the representative of the ability, but was replaced by the plug like Plugg in Star Allies.

In Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS[]

Plasma Wisps appear in Smash Run. They have three different attacks, indicated by their appearance:

  • Level 1: The Plasma Wisp simply fires rapid bolts of plasma energy at the player.(Plasma Needles)
  • Level 2: The Plasma Wisp gets a small aura around it, before firing a large plasma bolt at the player.(Plasma Wave)
  • Level 3: A very large aura surrounds the Plasma Wisp, which will also give them immunity to all attacks while the aura is up. Once the player is in their sights, Plasma Wisps will release the ball of plasma onto the player in a straight line. Getting hit by the attack does massive damage and knockback.(Plasma Wave)

If Plasma Wisp is allowed to charge up all the way, it will have a barrier that makes them invincible. However, their attacks can be absorbed, pocketed or pulled in by Gravitational Pull.

Trophy Description[]

This glowing enemy from the Kirby series uses plasma to attack. In Smash Bros. it'll float up to a fighter and then fire off energy attacks. There are three different levels to its attack. Level-two attacks can stun you, while level-three attacks do more damage. Keep your eyes peeled for those attacks! (NA) This glowing enemy from the Kirby series uses plasma to attack. In Super Smash Bros. Ultimate[]

Plasma Wisp appears as a spirit that equips the fighter with a Hothead when used.

Spirit Battle[]

The battle is against male Robin in his green alternate costume(as Plasma Wisp is green). Due to its electrical attributes, Robin will favour Thunder and the floor will be electrically charged. The stage(Prism Tower in battlefield form and music (City Trial) reference the City Trial mode in Kirby Air Ride, where Plasma Wisps are prominently featured, albeit only as obstacles that simply float around. Like the spirit effect, Hotheads will constantly spawn due to their similar appearance.

Trivia[]

  • Plasma Wisp appears during the Master Fortress fight.
