This fierce fighter uses electric moves like Thunder Jolt and Thunder. Pikachu Libre is one of the alternate costumes, and you can tell she's female by the shape of her tail.

Pikachu is a veteran fighter in the upcoming Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. It was confirmed to return on June 12, 2018 during E3 2018. Pikachu remains relatively the same, although now it has two new female-exclusive alternate costumes (the Sun/Moon female protagonist and Libre Cosplay). Each female version of Pikachu acquires a heart-shaped tip of the end of its tail.





Changes from SSBWU/3DS


  • Pikachu's Final Smash, Volt Tackle, now moves across the stage automatically at lightning fast speeds.

Ground Attacks

  • New up tilt.

  • Pikachu has a new neutral aerial.
  • Pikachu's down aerial now spikes.

  • Quick Attack now has a red arrow indicator showing the trajectory Pikachu is travelling in.

  • Neutral Attack: Headbutts forward.
  • Forward Tilt: Handstands and kicks forward.
  • Up Tilt: Pikachu scoots its backside to hit with its tail.
  • Down Tilt: Sweeps its tail forward.
  • Dash Attack: Headbutts while dashing.

Smash Attacks

  • Forward Smash: Sends a spark of electricity forward.
  • Up Smash: Swings its tail above it in an upward arc.
  • Down Smash: Spins around with its tail extended, dealing electrical damage.

Aerial Attacks

  • Neutral aerial: Pikachu emits an electric surge around itself, similar to Mewtwo's Neutral Aerial. Hits multiple times.
  • Forward aerial: Headbutts forward in midair, dealing electrical damage.
  • Back aerial: Spins around, hitting with its outstretched arms and tail.
  • Up aerial: Swings its tail above it in an upwards arc.
  • Down aerial: Headbutts downwards, dealing electrical damage.

Grabs and Throws

  • Pummel: Electrocutes the opponent.
  • Forward Throw: Places the opponent on its head and electrocutes them.
  • Back Throw: Rolls backwards before tossing the opponent behind it.
  • Up Throw: Headbutts the opponent upwards.
  • Down Throw: Slams the opponent on the ground with its back.
