Most trophies ("figures" or "figurines" in Japan) in Super Smash Bros. Brawl can be obtained through the Coin Launcher (labeled as random in how to unlock) or playing certain stages in The Subspace Emissary. Some trophies, particularly the enemies of The Subspace Emissary, can only be obtained by using a Trophy Stand ("Smash Plates" in the Japanese version) on a foe while its health is low. Other trophies, particularly those of playable characters and their Final Smashes, can be obtained by playing Classic Mode and All-Star Mode respectively. Trophies can also be obtained by completing several challenges. There are 544 trophies in all in Brawl, some which tend to be rarer than others. They can be used in the Trophy Hoard.
The following is a list of trophies that are from other, less notable Nintendo series. There are 35 trophies in total.

- R.O.B. in Brawl is the only playable character in the entire series whose trophies are featured under the Others section.
- The Devil's US trophy states that it was released in Japan only, when it was also released in Europe. This error also exists with the Tamagon trophy in Melee.
- As to emulate the art style of Hotel Dusk: Room 215, the Kyle Hyde trophy is animated in Squigglevision-esque style. It is the only trophy in the entire series to feature animation of any sort.
- Additionally, on the Kyle Hyde trophy, it states that he is a former detective. This is incorrect as Kyle is a former cop who worked for the NYPD. This error was not present in the Japanese version.
- Ashley's US trophy states that her father researched in biology. This is incorrect as Ashley's father researched in biometrics. This error was not present in the Japanese version and was fixed in the European version.
- Though the Dr. Wright trophy lists his sole notable appearance as the first SimCity, he had also played a major role in the Japan-exclusive SimCity 64.
- Interestingly, the game features trophies for both the Ouendan and the Elite Beat Agents; Elite Beat Agents is the completely revamped, Western-localized version of the first Osu! Tatakae! Ouendan, and the Agents themselves appeared as secret characters in the second Ouendan game (which never saw a Western release).
- Custom Robo Arena is spelled with a colon (which is incorrect) on the Ray Mk III trophy, but without one on the Custom Robos and Jameson & A.I.R.S. trophies.
- In the Japanese version:
- Super Scope's game appearance was listed as simply Super Scope.
- The Infantry & Tank trophy's other game appearance was listed Game Boy Wars Advance 1+2, due to the fact that both Advance Wars games were delayed and eventually cancelled due to the original game's North American release date being one day before the September 11 attacks, only for both games to finally get a Japanese release in 2004 as a 2-in-1 pack.
- Barbara's other game appearance was listed English Training.
- The Custom Robos trophies listed Custom Robo for the Nintendo 64 as the debut game, as the game was never released outside of Japan.
- There was an error when obtaining the Lip's Stick trophy; it unlocks Tetris Attack in the Chronicle. However, Lip, for whom the weapon is named, does not appear in the game when Panel de Pon was localized and replaced with Yoshi characters including her. In the Japanese version, it simply says Panel de Pon which is where its from.
- Similarly, this error would continue into the European release of Super Smash Bros. for Wii U for the Lip's Stick trophy.
