June 2014[]
June 30. Poppants, enemies from Super Smash Bros. Brawl, will return in Smash Run, dropping items as usual.
June 27. Some of the Mii's characteristics from your console will carry over when they become Mii Fighters. Smaller Miis are faster, while larger Miis are more powerful.
June 26. Nabbit appears as a stage hazard on Mushroom Kingdom U. He is carrying Luigi inside his bag.
June 25. Sakurai comments that "the all-time classic Balloon Fight returns to the modern age, now playable with four players." It is unknown what he means by this.
June 24. Link appears in a costume based on his tunic in The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword.
June 23. Rosalina appears in the Pac-Land stage, with Sakurai commenting "There's always someone bigger than you"
June 20. One of Donkey Kong's alternate Neutral Specials, Storm Punch, is shown. Each character now has up to 12 customizable special attacks.
June 19. Pac-Man's Neutral Special Move, Bonus Fruit, is shown. While charging, the fruit cycles the same way it did in the original game, with each fruit having different characteristics when thrown.
June 18. A new game in the 3DS version, Trophy Rush, is unveiled. Sakurai is keeping the details secret for now.
June 17. Dr. Eggman's robot machine, Eggrobo, will appear in Smash Run as an enemy. It will fire lasers at the characters.
June 16. The Mii Swordfighter's Special Moves Shuriken of Light, Chakram, and Gale Strike are shown. The chakram's direction can be changed and it can even be stalled in midair.
June 13. Mario is shown with the SSB4 third-party characters, and Sakurai marvels at the rich variety of characters in Smash Bros.
June 12. Palutena is shown playing the Home-Run Contest, now with new features like sturdier glass and doubled speed for long hits. Players can now compare their scores in a worldwide ranking,
June 10. Pac-Man, one of gaming's oldest characters, joins the battle!
June 10. Mii Fighters join the battle. "You can fight-anyone can fight!"
June 10. New Super Mario Bros. 2 is now a stage on the 3DS version, with coins everywhere.
June 9. Every Pokemon shown in the Charizard-Greninja trailer will make an appearance. One Pokemon not shown, Meloetta, also appears, using vocal attacks which can reflect off landforms.
June 6. The Coliseum stage is unveiled, and is shown with Marth and Ike.
June 5. Brewster is shown serving drinks in the background of the Town and City stage.
June 4. The Boomerang item is revealed, which will return to the thrower, getting stronger after each throw. It can be intercepted, though.
June 3. The Tortimer Island stage is shown as a trophy.
June 2. A new stage, Mushroom Kingdom U, is revealed for the Wii U version.
May 2014[]
May 30. The bottom screen of the 3DS version includes the characters' stats. If you tap on one character's section, they will be highlighted with a red square during fighting.
May 29. Ike's eruption attack is shown, and it will once again give recoil damage if charged too long. The optimal time to release it is when the sword shines.
May 28. Characters will emit steam when they are at high damages.
May 27. The Rocket Belt is shown, which gives the character wearing it many more jumps. Sakurai jokes that Ike's cape must be fireproof.
May 26. A look at the revival platforms, whose colors will change from yellow to red as time passes on to tell how much time the respawning characters have left.
May 23. Ike returns to Super Smash Bros, now with a design from Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn
May 22. During Team Battle, characters can be whatever color they want instead of just the color of their team, and will instead be surrounded in an outline of their team's color.
May 21. Some characters' arm and leg positions will be mirrored when they face the opposite direction so the character will not have their back facing the screen.
May 20. Assist Trophies may do random things like emit rainbow-colored lights or even blink, even if Color TV-Game 15 is inside.
May 19. Little Mac's Final Smash is shown, with Sakurai commenting from Olimar's point of view in awe.
May 16. Villager's alternate costumes are shown, one of them being female.
May 15. Color TV-Game 15 is shown as an Assist Trophy. It is the oldest game to be represented in Smash Bros.
May 14. Brittany from Pikmin 3 is shown as a trophy.
May 13. Charizard's new Side Special Move, Flare Blitz, is shown. It is very powerful but will give recoil damage if it makes contact. Rock Smash is now Charizard's Down Special Move.
May 12. Wire-frame Little Mac from the original Punch-Out!! game appears as one of Little Mac's alternate costumes.
May 9. The Dragoon returns to Super Smash Bros. with a touched-up design. On the 3DS version it will appear in stereoscopic 3D.
May 8. Bullet Bill is shown as an item.
May 7. Some of the Wonderful Ones from the game The Wonderful 100 will appear as trophies.
May 6. Octorok and Met are shown as enemies in Smash Run. They duck to avoid damage, but Sakurai says to just calmly grab them while they're ducking.
May 5. Characters can go on top of the lights on the Boxing Ring stage and hide there.
May 2. Dillon is shown as an Assist Trophy, and attacks by rolling.
May 1. Orne from Kid Icarus is shown, and is even more powerful than the Ultimate Chimera.
April 2014[]
April 30. The new item Super Leaf allows players to float in the air by pressing the jump button. The producers are still wondering whther you can attack with it,
April 29. Tether Recoveries return, and reach a longer range than before. Multiple people can latch on at the same time, but who actually grabs hold is determined by who got to it first.
April 28. Midna appears as an Assist Trophy, and will grab and throw things all over the place.
April 25. Mega Man.EXE, X Mega Man, Mega Man Star Force, and Mega Man Volnutt all join Mega Man as part of his Final Smash.
April 24. Yoshi's Egg Throw now leaves a rainbow trail, and Zero Suit Samus' posture when firing her Paralyzer is better.
April 23. Charizard grabs a Waddle Dee, with Sakurai joking that he can't eat it.

April 22. The Balloon Fight for the 3DS version is unveiled, and if one walks off the side they will appear on the other side.
April 21. The Beam Sword returns, now featuring graduated colors. A new item, the Fire Bar, is revealed, which becomes shorter after every hit.
April 18. The Poke Ball Pokemon and Assist Trophies will remain roughly the same in the Wii U and 3DS versions, but just roughly...
April 17. Tac, an enemy is Smash Run, will steal your charged power, and you'll have to chase him quickly to get it back.
April 16. Zero Suit Samus and Wii Fit Trainer do a "pose"
April 15. The "Final Destination" version of Gerudo Valley is shown, with no stage hazards or other distractions.
April 14. Greninja joins the battle, using a sophisticated moveset.
April 11. The characters start out ordinary when Smash Run starts, but can power up with various items like in Kid Icarus: Uprising.
April 10. Samus and Zero Suit Samus show off their jet-powered jumps.
April 8. The three different crate types are shown, in an announcement to come watch the April 8 Nintendo Direct.
April 7. The Metroid returns as an assist trophy.
April 4. Isabelle appears as an Assist Trophy, and tells everyone to tune in for the Smash Bros. Direct.
April 3. Pikachu's Thunder now has a Meteor Smash effect.
April 2. The Gust Bellows item is shown, which can blast enemies back. If dropped, it will start gusting wildly.
April 1. A new stage is shown, which appears to look like a side-scrolling action game.
March 2014[]
March 31. Luigi's Poltergust 5000 appears, with the promise that it will be sucking things in.
March 28. The Prism Tower stage is unveiled for the 3DS version, and the battle begins right in front of it.
March 27. Andross returns to Super Smash Bros. 3DS/Wii U.
March 26. The Ore Club item is shown, a heavy item which can create tornadoes.
March 25. The SSB3DS characters are shown with and without outlines. Outlines can be customized at any time.
March 24. The Cuccos are shown, with a warning never to bully them.
March 21. Phosphora is shown as a trophy.
March 20. If Diddy Kong's Peanut Popgun explodes, it will deal a powerful, albeit close-range attack.
March 19. Rosalina is shown in her lying down position, and Sakurai jokes on how calm she looks even after being attacked.
