Donkey Kong Beat Classic Mode with Donkey Kong.
DonkeyKongTrophyWiiU
Donkey Kong and His Friends Flag of North America This king of the jungle really, really loves bananas. His adventures usually start with people stealing his hoard of them. In Smash Bros., he's known for his incredible strength and long reach. Despite his size, he's still pretty quick. He can even jump carrying heavy items! Use this knowledge well.
Flag of Europe With help from Diddy Kong and his Animal Friends, this banana-loving king of the jungle will take on anyone causing trouble on his turf. The best things about him in this game are his colossal strength, his speed, his long reach and the fact that he can jump while holding heavy items. Make sure you use all that to your advantage!

DonkeyKongAltTrophyWiiU
Animal Friends and Items Flag of North America Donkey Kong pulls no punches when it comes to fighting. Or headbutts, as it turns out. His Headbutt special move will bury those on the ground who get hit, leaving them open to some serious damage. If Donkey Kong strikes airborne foes with this move, they'll go crashing downward.
Flag of Europe Donkey Kong's always been one to use his head. Anyone who's been on the receiving end of his Headbutt special will tell you that. If they're on the ground when it hits them, they'll get buried, leaving them open to a serious walloping. If they're in the air, though, they might find themselves being knocked down. Either way, it's going to hurt.

Diddy Kong Beat Classic Mode with Diddy Kong.
DiddyKongTrophyWiiU
Donkey Kong and His Friends Flag of North America Donkey Kong's trusty partner. He sports his signature look: red hat, red shirt, Rocketbarrel Pack. In Smash Bros., he's incredibly agile. Charge the Rocketbarrel Pack by holding down the button before launch; you can steer with left and right. Don't forget to drop banana peels—enemies love it!
Flag of Europe Red cap? Red T-shirt? Rocketbarrel Pack? Yep, it's Diddy Kong. His agility lets him get attacks in quickly in this game. Fire up his Rocketbarrel Pack and keep the button held down to fly further. You can even steer him in the air! Tip: If you don't mind fighting dirty, make your opponent slip on a Banana Peel, then hit 'em while they're down.

His Monkey Flip side special is a rolling leap followed by a grab (or a kick if you press the button again midjump). If you grab foes, press the button again to attack or jump off them to go high into the air.

Rocketbarrel Barrage Beat All-Star Mode with Diddy Kong.
RocketbarrelBarrageTrophyWiiU
Final Smashes 1 Flag of North America Diddy Kong's Final Smash is an attack on all fronts! Diddy takes to the air with his Barrel Jet, tackling opponents as he fires explosive shots from his Peanut Popguns. His Final Smash is nearing its end when he begins flashing, so get as close to your foes as you can—the Barrel Jet will explode at the end of this Final Smash!
Flag of Europe With a Peanut Popgun in each hand, Diddy showers his foes with a hail of explosive destruction. This Final Smash lets him fly freely through the air, dealing damage to anyone in his way. When his body starts to flash, that means the Final Smash is about to end, so try to catch your foes in the Rocketbarrel Pack's explosion!
Peanut Popgun Random
PeanutPopgunTrophyWiiU
Animal Friends and Items Flag of North America Diddy Kong's special wooden gun, locked and loaded with peanut shots. Power up the peanuts by holding the button, but don't get carried away—an overcharged peanut can explode in the barrel! Charging will improve the range of your shot, so keep an eye on your target as you prepare to fire!
Flag of Europe Diddy Kong's special wooden gun. Keep the trigger held to charge up the speed and power of the peanut ammo. Just don't get carried away or the gun might explode! How long you charge it for also affects the range of your projectile, so pay close attention to your intended target and make sure you time it just right!
  • Donkey Kong 64 (11/1999)
  • Donkey Kong Country Returns (11/2010)
Rocketbarrel Pack Random
RocketbarrelPackTrophyWiiU
Animal Friends and Items Flag of North America Two barrels modified into jet engines—if you throw them on, you're airborne! You can charge them up for a bigger, more accurate boost, but be careful while using these. If you get hit while you're powering up on the ground or zipping around the sky, you'll lose all control of this jet pack!
Flag of Europe Two barrels equipped with jet engines. Strap them onto your back and the sky's the limit! Use this contraption to boost your jump and control where you land with pinpoint precision. Just try not to let yourself get attacked when you're charging the jets or in the air, or things'll go haywire!
  • Donkey Kong 64 (11/1999)
  • Donkey Kong Country Returns (11/2010)
Hammer Random
HammerTrophyWiiU
N/A Flag of North America Once you grab this hammer, you can't help but keep swinging and swinging. Who needs special moves when you've got a hammer? And forget your second jump—use that time to deliver a second lump! Oh, but the hammerhead isn't attached very well, so watch out if it pops off or something...
Flag of Europe This is something you just can't stop swinging. At all. You'll do a lot of damage with it, but...you won't be able to jump in mid-air or use special moves, so if you fall off the stage, good luck getting back on! Oh, and if the head pops off, you'll be left waving the handle around. If that happens... man, you are going to look ridiculous.
  • Donkey Kong Classics (09/1988)
  • Mario vs. Donkey Kong (05/2004)
Hammerhead Random
HammerheadTrophyWiiU
N/A Flag of North America A hammer is just a stick until you add the top. That's where this item comes into play. Sometimes, however, the top comes off. If that happens, just grab this loose part and throw it at your enemies. For some poetic justice, make the guy swinging the hammer handle your first target.
Flag of Europe If the head of a hammer should happen to fall off while someone's waving it around, don't let it go to waste! It's great for launching people, so pick it up and throw it at someone! How about that wally waving the hammer handle around? He's just asking for it!
  • Super Smash Bros. Brawl (03/2008)
  • Super Smash Bros. for Wii U
Spring Random
SpringTrophyWiiU
N/A Flag of North America A strong spring that can bounce you higher than you've ever been before. If you throw this down while you're in midair, you'll get a boost and sail even farther into the air! Try to be careful, though, since this spring may fall on its side and end up launching you sideways instead of up.
Flag of Europe Jump on this to jump higher than you ever have before! Throw it in the air, then land on it to jump even higher! Then use special attacks, or even do another jump in mid-air! If it's lying on its side, though, just bumping into it might be enough to launch you off the stage. You don't want that, so be careful!
  • Donkey Kong Jr. (06/1986)
Pauline Random
PaulineTrophyWiiU
Memorabilia Flag of North America Waaay back in 1981, a new action game using barrels and girders hit arcades. That game was Donkey Kong, in which Mario had to rescue Pauline from the title character. Maybe she wanted to look less like Princess Peach—she changed her look in the Game Boy version.
Flag of Europe One fine day in 1981, the world was introduced to a new action-packed arcade game – Donkey Kong! But back then, the girl Mario was trying to rescue from Donkey Kong wasn't Peach – it was Pauline. Also, did you know that in Japan, Pauline was originally just called "Lady"?

Cranky Kong Random
CrankyKongTrophyWiiU
Donkey Kong and His Friends Flag of North America This old man could teach you a thing or two! Cranky Kong has always been willing to share some words of wisdom, but in Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze, he decides to help directly and brings his cane-swinging style to the field. What a crazy old... Ahem. What a gentleman!
Flag of Europe In Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze, Cranky Kong's decided he's done with just giving the young 'uns helpful hints, so now he's taking things into his own hands by bringing some much-needed cane-swinging to the fray. You just can't keep an old ape down, can you?
  • Donkey Kong Country (11/1994)
  • Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze (02/2014)
Funky Kong Random
FunkyKongTrophyWiiU
Donkey Kong and His Friends Flag of North America Has he remodeled his personal jet into a shop? Maybe he thinks it will encourage his items to "fly off the shelves." He claims he ran an airport once... Maybe that's true. Much like his style of conversation, I'm sure it was a pretty funky experience.
Flag of Europe Funky Kong's turned his private plane into a shop, all in some kind of effort to make stuff "fly off the shelves". Classic jokes like that and the way he says things like "tubular" might make you think you're back in the 80s, but that's all part of his charm, right?
  • Donkey Kong Country (11/1994)
  • Donkey Kong 64 (11/1999)
Candy Kong Random
CandyKongTrophyWiiU
Donkey Kong and His Friends Flag of North America It's no surprise she catches the eyes of Donkey Kong and Funky Kong. Just by glancing at them, she makes guys wonder if she likes them. You probably best remember her as the helpful lady who runs Candy's Save Point in Donkey Kong Country.
Flag of Europe You might remember Candy helping you save your game back in Donkey Kong Country. Both Donkey Kong and Funky Kong have just a little bit of a crush on her. Maybe one day, she'll notice one of them, and... Well, we're not writing a romantic novel here. Good luck to them both, though!
  • Donkey Kong Country (11/1994)
  • Donkey Kong 64 (11/1999)
Enguarde Random
EnguardeTrophyWiiU
Animal Friends and Items Flag of North America If you combine this swordsman of the sea with the king of the jungle, you'll get an aquatic duo no enemy can hope to overcome. Like Rambi the Rhinoceros, Enguarde can dash to blast through foes. Does that mean we should call him the Rhino of the Sea? Or maybe Rambi is the Swordfish of the Shores? Hmmm...
Flag of Europe When this swordsman of the sea and the king of the jungle team up, you get an aquatic duo no enemy can hope to overcome. Like Rambi the Rhinoceros, Enguarde can dash to blast through foes. Does that make Enguarde the rhino of the sea, or is Rambi the swordfish of the shores? Hmmm...

  • Donkey Kong Country 2 (11/1995)
Winky Random
WinkyTrophyWiiU
Animal Friends and Items Flag of North America The Kongs have all kinds of animal friends. Mammal friends, fish friends, bird friends. Winky is a frog. He defeats those pesky Zingers by bouncing on top of them. You might worry about falling off that slippery back of his, but all concern will wash away as you are hopping through the skies.
Flag of Europe The Kongs' Animal Friends come in all shapes and sizes. There are mammals, fish, birds... There's even a frog! Winky's high-hopping abilities make him really useful when it comes to taking out those pesky Zingers. Best of all, you don't need to worry about accidentally falling off that slippery back of his – it just never happens!

Unfortunately for them, Donkey Kong tends to take them out before they even know what's going on. On a separate note, you can actually play as a Kritter in Donkey Kong Barrel Blast!
Flag of Europe These enemies are part of King K. Rool's Kremling gang in the Donkey Kong series. Depending on their colour, they move and attack in different ways. • Donkey Kong Country (11/1994)
  • Donkey Kong 64 (11/1999)
Zinger Random
ZingerTrophyWiiU
N/A Flag of North America It'd be a ton of fun to ride on a Zinger, flying high up into the sky. Too bad they're covered in spikes and not all that friendly to begin with. Zingers come in different colors, with the yellow ones flying up and down and the red ones flying in circles. We don't want to spoil it, so you'll have to play to find out what the others do!
Flag of Europe It'd be great if you could fly through the sky on a Zinger – too bad they're covered in spikes and far too nasty to let you. The yellow ones fly up and down while the red ones go round in circles. Want to know more? Go and check them out yourself, then. No promises you'll come back in one piece, though!
  • Donkey Kong Country (11/1994)
  • Donkey Kong 64 (11/1999)
King K. Rool Play as Ganondorf and hit Sandbag at least 1000m (3280 ft.) in Solo Home-Run Contest.
KingKRoolTrophyWiiU
N/A Flag of North America Whereas Mario often squares off against Bowser, Donkey Kong must fight against King K. Rool. He's a big croc with a big attitude...and a tiny crown. He probably could have been Donkey Kong's most trustworthy animal friend. Think he'll ever have a change of heart? Not likely.
Flag of Europe This guy is to Donkey Kong what Bowser is to Mario. This crowned Kremling has a serious attitude problem. If only he could have been one of DK's Animal Friends instead... Maybe with just a little change of heart, he still could be! On second thoughts...nope. Never gonna happen.
  • Donkey Kong Country (11/1994)
  • Donkey Kong 64 (11/1999)

In that case, you must also know that hopeful feeling you get upon seeing one of these in a really tough stage. Break one to release a helpful partner!
Flag of Europe Did you know that the "DK" on a DK Barrel stands for "Donkey Kong"? ...You did? Well then, maybe you also know what a beautiful and hopeful feeling it is to see one of these when you're toughing it out alone, all sad and forlorn. Flag of Europe Dixie Kong is all about style and substance. Just look at her ponytail. It's not just a fashion statement – she can spin it to fly up into the air, swim against strong currents, and even throw barrels with it, no problem! No wonder Diddy Kong likes her!

Sadly, Wrinkly has become a spirit by the time she's seen in Donkey Kong 64. She doesn't let her ghostly form keep her from sharing advice, though.
Flag of Europe Wrinkly has been in the series since Donkey Kong Country 2, where she was the director of Kong Kollege. Even Kaptain K. Rool was one of her students once upon a time! She passed away at some point before Donkey Kong 64, but still shows up now and then as a ghost. Why should she let a little thing like death stop her?

Tiny Kong Random
TinyKongTrophyWiiU
Donkey Kong and His Friends Flag of North America Debuting as a small member of the Kongs, she can shrink even smaller with Mini Monkey. Unfortunately, she hasn't put as much effort into mastering flying with her ponytails as Dixie has. Remember: these Kongs are trained professionals and perform stunts under Nintendo supervision. Don't try flying with your ponytails at home!
Flag of Europe She isn't quite as small as when we first met her, but with her Mini-Monkey ability, Tiny Kong can still live up to her name! She can't fly with her ponytails like Dixie can, but she can still twirl to glide through the air. Remember: these Kongs are trained professionals. Donkey Kong and His Friends Flag of North America The comical Lanky made his debut in Donkey Kong 64. It's fun to watch him take out enemies with his long arms. His special ability Orangstand lets him walk on his hands, making steep slopes an easy task. When items are just out of reach, it's a good thing Lanky is so...humerus.
Flag of Europe Debuting in Donkey Kong 64, this is one ape who loves to monkey around. His long orangutan arms stretch when he attacks, which is always fun to watch. He can even go upside-down and walk around on his hands using his Orangstand ability! With such a useful pair of arms, does he even need those tiny legs?

It's only fair, right?
Flag of Europe Deep within ancient ruins, Tiki shaman Gong Oh drops an egg into a golden cauldron, and magically causes it to hatch. When he comes to an abrupt halt, his shell will flip forward. At last, the time to strike! Thugly should really get bungee cords or something to hold that in place.
Flag of Europe A charging monster controlled by a Tiki called Xylobone. There's a weak point on his large back, but it's covered by a thick shell, so can it even be called a weakness at all? Well, it doesn't protect him all the time – when he brakes suddenly, the shell flips open! Someone should tell Thugly to glue that thing down...

Donkey Kong Country Returns Flag of North America In the scorching hot lava of the Volcano area, Tiki Tong waits for Donkey Kong to arrive. It may look like he's enjoying a nice banana snack, but really he's just preparing his next attack: spitting banana juice on the Tikis! That's gross. Gotta get over how nasty that is, though, as the soaked Tikis join with Tiki Tong to attick—I mean attack!
Flag of Europe In the lava-filled Volcano region awaits Tiki Tong, the leader of the Tiki Tak Tribe. He liquefies a whole pile of bananas into goo, and then – instead of eating it – spits it all over his minions and fuses them to him! Ew! The Kongs'll have to hold off on complaining about how disgusting it all is – taking Tiki Tong out takes prioritiki.

Notes[]

  • Both the Hammer and Pauline's game debuts in the Japanese version are listed as Donkey Kong for the arcades.
    • Additionally, the Hammerhead's trophy states that its debut is Super Smash Bros. Brawl, when it was actually introduced in Super Smash Bros. Melee.
    • Similarly, Pauline's related games in the European version lists Donkey Kong for the NES but uses the arcade's release.
  • The Spring's debut game in the Japanese version is listed as the arcade version of Donkey Kong Jr.
  • Donkey Kong's alternate trophy resembles his Adventure Mode trophy in Melee.
