However, Meta Ridley pursues them, presumably to prevent them from escaping. Four of the heroes on board fight Ridley on top of the Falcon Flyer, and eventually defeat him. The Falcon Flyer functions as a stage when battling Meta Ridley in ''The Subspace Emissary ''and in Boss Battle Mode. During the fight, Ridley will constantly disrupt the flight of the Flyer by attacking it, causing it to occasionally be pushed toward the bottom or for the fighters on top of it to take damage. Standing at certain positions on the Falcon Flyer in some of Ridley's attacks will lead to a fighter being KO'd.[[Image:Falcon_Flyer_Trophy.jpg|150px|right]]

Bigblue

The Falcon Flyer as a stage element on Big Blue

The Falcon Flyer is a ship used by Captain Falcon in the F-Zero series alongside the Blue Falcon. Though the ship makes one appearance in a comic alongside the original F-Zero, the ship has made many appearances in the Super Smash Bros. series.

Super Smash Bros. Melee

The Falcon Flyer makes its first appearance in Melee as a stage element on Big Blue. Unlike the other racing machines, the Falcon Flyer will float above the racetrack, providing a stable place for fighting due to the less risk of falling onto the track.

Falcon Flyer trophy (SSBM)

Trophy Description

Captain Falcon's speedy midsize star cruiser boasts an on-board computer that allows Falcon to control it remotely ... perhaps that's why it's never appeared on-screen in an F-Zero game. Without this ship, Falcon couldn't prowl the galaxy like a lone wolf: the Blue Falcon is a state-of-the-art machine, but it's only used for F-Zero races.

Super Smash Bros. Brawl

The Falcon Flyer returns as a stage element with the return of Big Blue, functioning identically as it did in Melee.

The Falcon Flyer plays a much more prominent role in Brawl's Adventure Mode: The Subspace Emissary. The ship is summoned by Captain Falcon in order to take him, Olimar, Samus, Pikachu, Donkey Kong, Diddy Kong, and the newly joined R.O.B. out of the Subspace Bomb Factory, which is on the verge of exploding. However, Meta Ridley pursues them, presumably to prevent them from escaping. Four of the heroes on board fight Ridley on top of the Falcon Flyer, and eventually defeat him. The Falcon Flyer successfully escapes just before the Factory explodes, and regroups with the heroes on the ground. The Falcon Flyer is seen as one of the ships running as a distraction against the Subspace Gunship so that Kirby pilots a Dragoon into the ship. After the Gunship's destruction, the Falcon Flyer goes into the massive Subspace portal, and isn't seen again for the rest of the story.

During the fight, Ridley will constantly disrupt the flight of the Flyer by attacking it, causing it to occasionally be pushed toward the bottom or for the fighters on top of it to take damage. Falcon Flyer Trophy

Trophy Description

Captain Falcon's speedy, midsized galactic cruiser, equipped with an onboard computer. Falcon uses the Falcon Flyer mainly to track down criminals when he's plying his trade as a bounty hunter. Of course, it also comes in handy for transporting and maintaining the Blue Falcon. The Falcon Flyer is an exceedingly reliable partner.

  • Super Smash Bros. Brawl, 2008

Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS and Wii U

Trophy Description

The treasured ship of the bounty hunter Captain Falcon. Don't get this confused with the Blue Falcon, his F-Zero machine. The nose looks like a falcon, reflecting Captain Falcon's dauntless pursuit of his prey. Beware, bounty heads! Captain Falcon will track you down!

  • NGC - Super Smash Bros. Melee (12/2001)
  • Wii - Super Smash Bros. Brawl (03/2008)

Origin

The Falcon Flyer made its first (and only) appearance in a comic which came alongside the original F-Zero. Not much was said about it beyond it being associated with Captain Falcon, similarly to the Blue Falcon. However, in its appearances in Super Smash Bros., the trophy descriptions describe the ship as Captain Falcon's personal ship for his bounty hunting activities due to its galactic cruising capabilities and onboard computer, with Brawl stating that the Falcon Flyer is also the transport ship for the Blue Falcon.
