Dialga (ディアルガ, Diaruga) is a legendary Pokémon from the Pokémon universe.

Super Smash Bros. Brawl[]

Dialga appears in Super Smash Bros. Brawl, as a stage Pokémon and a hazard. It appears on the Spear Pillar stage. During play, it can use five different abilities:

  • Earthquake, Collapsing one of the three sections of the floor (left, middle, or right)
  • Hyper Beam, Creating a beam over a portion of the stage vertically, or horizontally through the lower section of the stage
  • Unknown move, Jumping off of the pedestal to the center of the stage, roaring, and emitting reddish light that damages players that touch it with high knockback.
  • Unknown move, Rotating the stage partially, but does not actually influence items like a real slope (i.e., a rolling crate would not roll)
  • Roar of Time, Slowing down or speeding up gameplay

Trophy Description[]

Dialga
A Temporal Pokémon. This Legendary Pokémon is talked about as a deity in fables passed down through generations in the Sinnoh region. Identifiable by the diamondlike crystal in the center of its chest, Dialga is said to have set time in motion at the moment of its birth. Its fearsome Roar of Time attack is so powerful that it must refrain from attacking on its next turn.

Super Smash Bros. for Wii U[]

Dialga appears in Super Smash Bros. for Wii U as a trophy.

Trophy Description[]

The concept of time has always been one of the world's great mysteries, but Dialga might hold the answer. Legend has it that Dialga's birth caused time to begin moving! It's no surprise that the people of Sinnoh see this Pokémon as a deity. If you're ever running late, maybe you could ask Dialga to do you a favour and turn back the clock.

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate[]

As a stage element[]

Dialga reprises its role as a stage hazard on the returning Spear Pillar stage. Spear Pillar now allows for any of the three Legendary Pokémon to appear each time, rather than being set for the whole match. Unlike in Brawl, Cresselia is now signified by the stage's color tint not changing from its new default green, rather than using Dialga's blue.

As a spirit[]

Dialga also appears as a collectable spirit which can be either purchased from the Shop for 600g or challenged through the Spirit Board. It is an Ace rank Primary Spirit of the Grab type.

Dialga's spirit battle uses a giant Lucario as the puppet fighter on Spear Pillar (a reference to both Dialga and Lucario being Steel-type Pokémon), with the following conditions:

  • The enemy will suddenly have a Final Smash
  • Periodic earthquakes will shake the stage after a little while
  • The enemy is giant

The Earthquake rule and battle condition both reference Earth Power and Earthquake, Ground-type moves learned by Dialga. Also, the Sudden Final Smash edict references Lucario's Final Smash, Aura Storm being a powerful laser beam similar to Roar of Time, Dialga's signature move.

The song that plays during the spirit battle is ''Battle! (Dialga/Palkia) / Spear Pillar''.

For this battle, Dialga is the only one of Spear Pillar's three Pokémon that will appear on the stage.
