Darknuts (タートナック, Tātonakku) are enemies from The Legend of Zelda series.

In Super Smash Bros. Brawl[]

Darknut Trophy

Darknut appears as a trophy.

Trophy Description[]

A knight enemy clad in heavy armor that defends with a shield and attacks with sword techniques and kicks. Darknuts lose their armor as they take hits, but they grow faster in the process. Their sword skills are quite accomplished. The most fundamental way of dealing with Darknuts is having good command of spin attacks and back slices.

In Super Smash Bros. 3DS/Wii U[]

Darknut Smash Run

Darknut appears as an enemy in Smash Run, with its design from The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess.

Like Stalfos, their shields will block incoming attacks so they must be hit from the back to deal damage. However, their attacks are different compared to Stalfos; while Stalfos move backwards and then lunge towards the player, a Darknut's heavy armor prevents it from doing so. Instead, they use powerful sword attacks in various ways and can react quickly if a player rolls past their frontal attack. Once enough damage is dealt to the armor, it will break. This will make the Darknut faster and use a different set of attacks, but they can now be killed and be affected by powerful attacks.

Trophy Description[]

These heavily armored, bulky enemies often seen in the Legend of Zelda series are slow but powerful and can use their swords to block attacks and projectiles. When you're faced with one, you'll need to slowly cut away its armor. Once it's gone, the Darknut will become more agile, but it'll also be more vulnerable!
