This is the list of Music that appears in Super Smash Bros. Melee.

All tracks were arranged by a group of composers who are credited as "Orchestra Melee"; despite the name, a majority of the tracks are sequenced through sound libraries (although the songs "Opening", "Great Bay", "Pokémon Stadium", "Adventure Mode Intro", "Game Over" and all of the fanfares (except for Captain Falcon and Mr. Game & Watch) were all performed by a live orchestra). "Orchestra Melee" shouldn't be confused with the New Japan Philharmonic, who only performed on the game's soundtrack album Smashing...Live!

The tracks are presented as they are in the game's Sound Test and are listed and described here.

"DK Rap" Lyrics[]

He-he-here we go
So they're finally here, performing for you
If you know the words, you can join in too
Put your hands together, if you want to clap
As we take you through this monkey rap!

Huh!
DK! Donkey Kong!

He's the leader of the bunch, you know him well
He's finally back to kick some tail
His coconut gun can fire in spurts
If he shoots ya, it's gonna hurt
He's bigger, faster, and stronger too
He's the first member of the DK crew!

DK! Donkey Kong!
DK! Donkey Kong is here!

This Kong's got style, so listen up dudes
She can shrink in size, to suit her mood
She's quick and nimble when she needs to be
She can float through the air and climb up trees
If you choose her, you'll not choose wrong
With a skip and a hop, she's one cool Kong!

DK! Donkey Kong!

He has no style, he has no grace
Th-this Kong has a funny face
He can handstand when he needs to
And stretch his arms out, just for you
Inflate himself just like a balloon
This crazy Kong just digs this tune!

DK! DK! Donkey Kong!
DK! DK! Donkey Kong is here!

He's back again and about time too
And this time he's in the mood
He can fly real high with his jetpack on
With his pistols out, he's one tough Kong!
He'll make you smile when he plays his tune
But Kremlings beware 'cause he's after you!

DK! Donkey Kong!
DK! Haha, Donkey Kong!
DK! Donkey Kong!
DK! Donkey Kong!

Finally, he's here for you
It's the last member of the DK crew!
This Kong's so strong, it isn't funny
He can make a Kremling cry out for mummy
He can pick up a boulder with relative ease
Makes crushing rocks seem such a breeze
He may move slow, he can't jump high
But this Kong's one heck of a guy!

C'mon Cranky, take it to the fridge!
Walnuts, peanuts, pineapple smells
Grapes, melons, oranges and coconut shells!
Walnuts, peanuts, pineapple smells
Grapes, melons, oranges and coconut shells!

Aww yeah!

Other Music Tracks[]

The Sound Test --which is unlocked by unlocking all the unlockable stages-- has 80 entries --songs-- in its music list (00-79). But this is not the full selection of music in the actual game. Many people would identify the "Giga Bowser" music track as Track #80 (the 81st song). Additionally, "Peach's Castle Stage" from the original Super Smash Bros. is also not included (despite being heard in Luigi's introductory cutscene in Adventure Mode). In the debug menu, one can view several short unused short pieces there as well.

Trivia[]

  • Much like the first two Mushroom Kingdom stages, Mushroom Kingdom II will switch songs once there's 30 seconds left in a Time match. This is strange, however, as Super Mario Bros. 2 did not use a Time Limit like in other Mario games.
  • "Dr. Mario" is the only song to appear in more than one stage, as it can play on both Mushroom Kingdom stages.
  • The Donkey Kong universe has the unique distinction of being the first major universe in Smash Bros. to have a song with vocals.
    • In "Kongo Jungle", the original verse "But this Kong's one hell of a guy" has been notably altered to "one heck of a guy", potentially to avoid any offense and to stay within Melee's Teen rating.
