Airborne Assault (変則急襲斬り) is one of Mii Swordfighter's Side Special Moves. The Mii Swordfighter leaps forth, curling into a ball, and then striking with their sword when they come into contact with an opponent; it can be charged up to increase the distance of the move and the damage the move deals. Mii Swordfighter is left helpless after using it in the air.
- Increased distance and damage when charged up
- Kills at 90% when fully charged
- Decent damage
- Horizontal recovery
- Side special off of the stage will result in an SD, much like Jolt Haymaker
- Leaves Mii Swordfighter helpless when used in the air
Airborne Assault is a move for players that like to have a good horizontal recovery move that can still get the job done when damage is called for. Airborne Assault is a good horizontal recovery option, fully charging it carries Mii Swordfighter pretty far and even after the attack itself ends the momentum from it carries into Mii Swordfighter, further assisting recovery. The move increases in damage and distance when charged, even killing opponents at 90% when fully charged; however, this is credited to the moves good knockback. In terms of damage, the move isn't too bad, dealing 10% uncharged and 16% fully charged, though as seen from those percentages the gap between damage when uncharged and fully charged is quite small. Fully charging does still have its benefits though if used too close to an edge, Mii Swordfighter could tumble right off stage and SD since the move leaves them helpless after use in the air.
