Abra (ケーシー? Keeshii in Japan) appears In Super Smash Bros. Melee and is one of the Pokémon that appears as a Poké Ball Pokémon in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate.

In Super Smash Bros. Melee[]

Abra makes a small appearance in the opening cutscene.

In Super Smash Bros. Ultimate[]

Upon being summoned, Abra will float around the stage, hovering near fighters. It will then pick a nearby fighter and envelop them in a ring of psychic energy, which teleports Abra and the fighter to a random spot offstage. Abra will use its teleport move several times before going away and will often teleport players several times before calming down. Due to its chaotic nature, it can easily mess up characters with bad recoveries and cause them to self-destruct. It cannot teleport Hero during Kacklang.

Abra cannot be summoned on 3D Land, Balloon Fight, Bridge of Eldin, Coliseum, Delfino Plaza, Dream Land GB, Figure-8 Circuit, Golden Plains, Great Bay, Living Room, Mario Bros., Mario Galaxy, Mushroom Kingdom, Mushroom Kingdom II, Mushroomy Kingdom, Onett, Pac-Land, Rainbow Cruise, Shadow Moses Island, The Great Cave Offensive, or Tortimer Island, due to either lack of an offstage area during some of the stage's phases or their autoscrolling mechanic.

Origins[]

Abra is a Psychic type Pokémon introduced in Generation I. Abra is infamous among Pokémon fans for being difficult to catch due to their only level up move being Teleport. However, Abra can be bred and taught different moves using TMs negating that weakness.
